Take me out to the ball game. Tonight, softball and baseball kick off their season with games against Beaverton. The varsity softball and baseball teams will travel to Beaverton, and the game time is 4:00 pm. The bus for athletes will leave at 1:50 pm. The junior varsity baseball team will play at home against Beaverton. The game starts at 4:00 pm. Go Bulldogs!

The 7th-grade Creative Writing class made Detroit Tigers posters for opening day at Comerica. They also sponsored a “find the baseball” hunt for small prizes for the MS/HS. Go Tigers!

Due to the impending winter storm and expected hazardous road conditions, St. Charles Community Schools will be closed on Friday, March 22nd. At its meeting on Wednesday, March 20th, the Board of Education recognized several students and one of our high school teachers for their accomplishments. Representatives Sean Kribs and Jamison Hagerty from Set-Seg attended the meeting to present Janee Gerding with the Education Excellence Award. She was recognized for her leadership in organizing the community's annual Beautification Day event. Mrs. Gerding thanked everyone involved and mentioned Doug Holem, a past STC teacher and founder of the event, for his guidance and support. In addition, the Board acknowledged the achievements of the Elementary Students of the Month and the Officers of the Week over the past few months. The high school band members were also celebrated for their impressive accomplishments.

On Thursday, March 14th, high school students from grades 9 to 12 spent their afternoon learning essential "life skills" such as budgeting, investing, and saving money, healthy eating, small engine repair, preparing 30-minute meals and desserts, cookie decorating, salon basics, card playing as a hobby, babysitting, and fixing a flat tire. Overall, it was an enjoyable and informative afternoon of learning. We would like to express our gratitude to the volunteers who generously shared their time and expertise with our students. Students in grades 9 and 10 had the opportunity to attend the STEM EXPLORATION Day at Delta College. Throughout the day students were allowed to rotate through five sessions where they were given hands-on opportunities to learn more about STEM careers. Thank you Delta College and HSC for this fun experience.
